Ideal Boilers is the oldest boiler manufacturer in the UK, founded in Hull in 1906. The Ideal Logic combi and system boiler range has become one of the best-selling lines in the UK domestic market, frequently specified on new-build developments due to a combination of competitive pricing and a strong warranty proposition. The newer Vogue range targets the premium sector.
We stock genuine Ideal boiler spare parts for the Logic, Vogue, and older Isar/Icos ranges — PCBs, fan assemblies, gas valves, heat exchangers, and pressure components.
Key Boiler Ranges
Ideal Logic+
The flagship current range — Logic+ Combi, Logic+ System, and Logic+ Regular. Available from 24kW to 35kW output. The Logic+ features a 10-year warranty when installed with an Ideal controller and registered with Ideal’s scheme.
Important: This warranty is voided if non-OEM parts are used for repairs — a significant consideration for engineers and homeowners managing a relatively new boiler.
Ideal Logic Heat (Regular Boiler)
The Logic Heat is the heat-only variant, designed for properties with a separate hot water cylinder. Parts largely overlap with the Logic Combi range.
Ideal Vogue
Premium range with higher efficiency and smart thermostat integration. The Vogue GEN2 is the current product with improved heat exchanger design. PCBs and control systems differ from Logic range — do not cross-reference parts between Logic and Vogue without confirming compatibility.
Ideal Icos and Isar (Legacy)
Older Ideal ranges, widely installed in the 2000s and early 2010s. Some electronic components are approaching end-of-production. Call our helpline to confirm availability: 0330 124 5678.
Most-Searched Ideal Parts
PCB: Ideal Logic PCB failure often presents as L2 fault code or complete boiler shutdown. Logic and Vogue PCBs are completely different and not interchangeable.
Fan Motor: Fan faults on Ideal Logic appear as L2 or occasionally F2. Replacement requires Gas Safe engineer.
Gas Valve: Ideal Logic gas valves are Honeywell-type modulating gas valves. Gas valve replacement must be carried out by a Gas Safe engineer.
Heat Exchanger: Logic heat exchanger failures typically occur in hard water areas through scale accumulation.
Ideal Boiler Fault Codes
F1 — Low Water Pressure
The system pressure has dropped below the minimum operating threshold. Immediate action: Re-pressurise via the filling loop to 1–1.5 bar.
If F1 recurs: Investigate expansion vessel condition, check for visible leaks.
Parts linked to F1: Expansion vessel, pressure gauge, PRV.
F2 — Ignition Failure
Ideal F2 — the boiler has attempted to ignite and failed after multiple attempts.
Parts linked to F2: Ignition electrode, ignition lead, gas valve, PCB.
L2 — Fan Fault
L2 indicates the fan is not reaching the required speed before the ignition sequence can begin, or has failed during operation.
L2 causes: failed fan motor, fan motor capacitor failure, wiring fault between PCB and fan, blocked flue, failed air pressure switch.
Parts linked to L2: Fan motor assembly, air pressure switch, fan motor capacitor.
F3 — Flame Loss
The burner has ignited but the flame has extinguished during operation.
F4 / F5 — Sensor Faults
Flow or return NTC thermistor reading outside expected range. Usually a failed sensor.
Ideal Logic Warranty Note
Ideal Boilers offers up to 10 years’ warranty on Logic+ models when registered with Ideal’s scheme and serviced annually. Using non-OEM parts during a repair within the warranty period may void this warranty. We stock genuine OEM parts for all Logic+ models.
